Job Title: Lab Support / Data Entry

Location: Carlsbad, CA

Duration: 8 months, W2 Contract

Job Summary / General Duties

  • Receive, review, and enter data into computer system or tracking database according to established procedures

  • Ensure accuracy of all data recorded and perform database maintenance functions

  • Supports the Quality Control Department's vision, mission and goals. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Keep track of received data and source documents

  • Prepare and sort source documents; identify and interpret data to be entered

  • Contact preparers of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data

  • Review and make necessary corrections to information entered

  • Compile, sort, and verify accuracy of data to be entered

  • Process various forms

  • Assist in establishing and maintaining an effective and efficient records management system

  • Generate reports and respond to inquiries regarding entered data as requested

  • Contribute to a team effort and accomplish related results as required

  • Perform general clerical duties such as typing, scanning, making copies, etc.

  • Perform other job related duties as assigned

Required Education / Minimum Work Experience

  • Completed High School diploma

  • Must also have a minimum of one year current work experience in an Administrative Assistant / Secretarial position

Required Qualifications / Skills (MUST have to be considered)

  • Previous experience operating various Microsoft-Office processing software, spreadsheets, and database programs. Must be clearly detailed in resume

  • Communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Carry out multiple tasks and meet deadlines

  • Follow instructions furnished in verbal or written format

  • Operate with minimal supervision and may exercise independent judgment in completing assignments

  • Detail oriented and excellent organization skills are a must

Physical Demands / Work Environment (MUST be able to perform)

  • Part to all of the work day will be spent in a BSL2 lab

  • Training will be given beforehand as to proper procedure in the room as the lab handles blood samples

  • The training is required to gain access to the room; there is otherwise no expectation for this position to handle any blood

  • The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job
