We currently have an exciting opportunity for a second shift Electrical Inspector within our ASI Division.
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the inspection of electrical and electromechanical assemblies using drawings, inspection measuring equipment and learned personal skills. Records data on acceptance tags and travelers. Initiates Non- Conformance reports. Uses hand tools, small power tools, and various measuring devices in performing job duties. Monitors quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures, and may perform source inspections.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Visually inspects electronic circuit boards, cables and assemblies.
Performs in-process and final inspection of major components, subsystems and systems.
Verifies that test records are correct.
Executes in-house surveillance inspection and follow up.
Interfaces with and assists customers’ inspectors during their source inspection of company activities.
May interface with manufacturing, quality engineering and procurement for corrective actions and inspection criteria.
Other duties as assigned or required.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Typically requires high school diploma, technical trade school training or equivalent and two or more years’ experience in electronics inspection and testing, including experience with printed circuit board assembly, cable assembly and electromechanical assembly.
Must have strong experience in Printed Circuit Board Assembly inspection.
Experience and knowledge of IPC 610 and IPC 620 for acceptability of electronic assemblies/cables and MIL standards for soldering and assembly requirements- certification preferred.
Must be customer focused.
Ability to read and interpret general engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
Working knowledge of inspection equipment.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Skills to maintain the flow of work within the unit.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
