Sharp HealthCare Newborn Hearing Screening Technician in San Diego, California


The Newborn Hearing Screening Technician will be responsible for performing newborn hearing screening exams. Completes data entry, maintains equipment, orders supplies and paperwork related to the newborn hearing-screening program. Provides for appropriate communication of hearing screening results and follow-up scheduling of outpatient appointments per hearing screening results.

Essential Physical Requirements may include

  • Lateral transfers (bed to gurney)

This is a Per Diem Position

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association

  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to work as a team as well as independently

  • Good computer skills

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Current enrollment in a RN nursing program with completion of Nursing Fundamentals and a Spring 2019or later graduation date

  • Current California issued Nursing Assistant certification

  • One year recent experience in an Acute Care hospital

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
